Welcome to the Radford Group for Architectural Research at De Montfort University.
Architecture has been studied at De Montfort University and its predecessor institutions since 1870 with the first formal full time courses instituted in 1919 under the direction of ‘Architectural Master' Ralph W. Beddingfield ARIBA.
The Radford Group is a network of academics and scholars within the Faculty of Art and Design at De Montfort University with a shared interest in the use of scholarship and computational techniques to analyse historic & modern buildings and to use this understanding to inform research into contemporary issues in the built environment. The ethos of the group was established by the late Head of the School of Architecture, Professor Dennis Radford after whom the group is named.
The Group is located in the Fletcher Low Rise building of the Faculty of Art & Design which we share with the Leicester School of Architecture and the Faculty of Art & Design.
